EXOR Accreditation

Exor Management Services is an Independent Accreditation Body for suppliers and contractors to a growing number of Public Sector Authorities (including District, County and Unitary), Central Government, Housing Associations, Education Authorities and Emergency Services.

In 2005, these standards were recognised as being the highest accreditation standard in the UK with 200 separate checks carried out on each supplier; checks include:

·  In-depth financial analysis and scoring

·  Health and Safety compliance

·  Insurance confirmation and tracking

·  Licence and Permit confirmation and tracking

·  Extensive independent referencing

·  Equal Opportunities compliance

·  Probity Checks

What are the benefits of being assessed for health and safety by the CHAS scheme?

The aim of the scheme is to avoid repeated applications by contractors and consultants in safety prequalification. This saves time and money for all involved. In addition, a CHAS assessment may cancel the need for a full assessment when tendering for work with our members.

ISO 9000 is a family of standards for quality management systems. ISO 9000 is maintained by ISO, the International Organization for Standardization and is administered by accreditation and certification bodies. Some of the requirements in ISO 9001 (which is one of the standards in the ISO 9000 family) include

  • a set of procedures that cover all key processes in the business;
  • monitoring processes to ensure they are effective;
  • keeping adequate records;
  • checking output for defects, with appropriate corrective action where necessary;
  • regularly reviewing individual processes and the quality system itself for effectiveness; and
  • facilitating continual improvement

A company or organization that has been independently audited and certified to be in conformance with ISO 9001 may publicly state that it is "ISO 9001 certified" or "ISO 9001 registered." Certification to an ISO 9000 standard does not guarantee the compliance (and therefore the quality) of end products and services; rather, it certifies that consistent business processes are being applied.

Constructionline: A new form of efficiency

Constructionline is the UK's register of pre-qualified local and national construction and construction-related contractors and consultants. Owned and endorsed by the Department for Business, Enterprise & Regulatory Reform (formerly the DTI), Constructionline is a contributor to the Rethinking Construction initiative.

We gather and assess pre-qualification information on behalf of public and private sector procurers and provide them with access to over 14,000 fully accredited suppliers free of charge.  In addition, we also help contractors and consultants by reducing the need for them to fill-in pre-qualification forms for every tender and provide them with access to over 1,700 buyers.
